Art is a native of the Bay area having grown up in San Leandro. A sense of God calling him to full
time ministry led him to pursue a Master's Degree in New Testament from Simpson College in San Francisco
and a Master's Degree in Divinity from American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley. Art served as
an Associate Pastor at Neighborhood Church in Castro Valley from 1981 to 1986. In 1987, he and a group of
families founded North Bay Bible Church in Vallejo. This was later to be renamed
Christ Community Church
after moving to its present location in Cordelia. He is the author of Spirit Empowered Preaching and speaks
at conferences locally and abroad.
